Where have all the long lanes gone?

Where have all the long lanes gone?

Many of you may have noticed the “Long Lane” is not used by the Menlo Swim School between the hours of 4pm and 6pm on weekday afternoons. You may ask where has is gone? Well, it is still used by swim school lessons at all other times, except between 4pm and 6pm on weekdays. During that time, the lane converts over to the Menlo Mavericks Swim Team to support the growth they have experienced over the past year.

The success of the Menlo Mavericks program is a direct reflection of the successes of our Menlo Swim School swimmers. All Menlo Swim School swimmers at the level of Breaststroke and above, have the opportunity to swim with Menlo Mavericks while also taking swim lessons. For many of the swimmers who have joined the Menlo Mavericks, the long lane allows them to work on their endurance, technique, and concentration without bumping into teammates.

Those who have received their Big Butterfly Ribbon may start at Menlo Mavericks Level 2 (pending an evaluation). Butterfly swimmers and below may be evaluated by a Mavericks coach for proper level placement. We hope that when a Menlo Swim School swimmer “Graduates” out of swim lessons, that they take their swimming to the next level with Menlo Mavericks, and when they get there we provide the space for everyone to grow!
