Advanced Swim Camp

Menlo Swim and Sport offers Advanced Swim Camp for kids ages 7-14!

The Advanced Swim Camp is our new youth camp aimed towards improving your swimmers technique and skills in a fun welcoming team environment. Swimmers will learn how to work together in a team environment during daily swim practices continuing to develop all 4 of the competitive strokes. Every day at camp will also include dry land training and structured games in and out of the water that focuses on challenging your swimmers to work together as a team, helping build confidence and social skills while also improving their physical strength, flexibility and balance.

Created and directed by our beloved coach and instructor Jacob Allen, the Mavericks Swim Camp provides a unique environment for children to learn and grow as swimmers. Through the combination of swim and fitness, children will create friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

Is This Camp for You?
For ages 7-10 & 10-14 (alternating weeks)
Prerequisite: 25 yards of freestyle, 1 minute of treading
Camp is for kids who are comfortable in the water, enjoy social group situations, and respond well to instruction.
Ideal before any family vacation that includes water activities!

Water Time Instruction
Campers will get a glimpse into the inner workings of our Mavericks Summer Swim Team! Our experienced swim team coaches will provide a daily 60-minute in-water practice that will focus on improving stroke development and increasing endurance. Starting with the basics and moving through to more advanced skills, practice times will provide an introduction to a swim team atmosphere

Free Swim
Advanced Swimmers will also enjoy 60 minutes of free swim time! This is the perfect opportunity for campers to spend time with their friends outside of the learning environment. They will participate in various water games and relays and have the opportunity to go head-to-head with our Junior Lifeguard campers!

After-Camp Care
After-Camp Care is just the ticket for your child to snack and re-energize, and play more field games along with additional open swim time. This is perfect for families working late or if you can’t make it to the camps regular pick up time. Menlo Swim and Sport counselors provide a safe and lively afternoon of varied activities, including 30 minutes of snack time, 45 minutes of field games and arts and crafts, and 1 hour of Open Swim. The kids won’t miss a beat, as they seamlessly transition to the afternoon segment of their day of excitement.

*There are no instructor-based swim lessons in After-Camp Care, just open swim.

Q: My child needs to be accompanied by an adult aide. Can they attend Camp?
A: Yes, absolutely! We would love to have your child join us. Please email our customer service team as soon as possible with the aide’s name to start the clearance process.

The aide will complete a LiveScan background check and we need to receive the clearance prior to the first day of camp. Aides accompanying campers must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

Q: Can my child check themselves in and out of Camp?
A: Campers 12 years of age and older or campers that have siblings in camp 12 years of age or older may check themselves in and out of camp with your authorization. This authorization is given in the questionnaire section of the camp registration process. A parent must be present for check-in on the first day of camp.

Q: I was added to the waitlist for Camp. What happens Now?
A: If a spot opens up in your desired camp, you will receive an automatic email from our registration system (communications@perfectmind.com) asking you to confirm or decline the spot. You have 24 hours to respond. After that time, you will be removed from the waitlist.

Q: Do you have any all-day camps?
A: Yes! We are currently running day and After-Camp Care afternoon camps. You are welcome to sign your child up for both the day and After-Camp session during the same week. You’ll just want to make sure to send your camper with a nutritious lunch.

Q: How do I cancel my Camp registration?
A: You can cancel online or with one of our customer service team members. First, please note the cancellation policy that you agreed to at the time of registration that’s listed above in our Policies.

Please email our customer service team if you have any questions.

KidCheck FAQ

Q: Does my spouse/partner or other guardians need to create a KidCheck account too?
A: Yes, but do not have them add the child onto their account. Once your spouse/partner or other guardians create their KidCheck account you should add them onto your account (the account with the child) as a Guardian.

Q: Why can’t my spouse/partner or other guardians just add the child onto their account?
A: Since KidCheck doesn’t collect personal information like the child’s social security number, your direct relation to the child, or other guardian’s direct relation to the child, or to you, the system won’t recognize the child on separate accounts as being the same child.

Q: The parent of another child and I will be taking turns dropping off or picking up our kids. How do we set this up in KidCheck?
A: First you both will create your separate KidCheck accounts and add only your own child onto your accounts. Then you will add them as a guardian on your account, and they will add you as a guardian onto their account.

Q: I’ve added my child and they are listed in the “Kids” tab but it says “You have not been authorized for any children”. Why is that?
A: Under the “Kids” tab there are two sections. The first section is “My Kids”. Under this section any child you add to your account will show and since they are your kids you automatically have authorization for them. The second section is “Kids I’m Authorized For”. This section will show the kids of other parents that have added you as an authorized guardian for their kids. If you are planning on picking up or dropping off kids other than your own and do not see their names listed under the “Kids I’m Authorized For” section, you need to contact their parent and ask them to add you as an authorized guardian for their child.
