About Junior All Terrain Runners


Building on the success of our adult All Terrain Runners, we are pleased to introduce the new Jr. ATR program for kids age 9-14. Through a fun, non-competitive, curriculum-based program, kids will work on all aspects of movement using confidence (obstacle) courses, core & strength work, and running. Physical activity is woven into the program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health.

Structured physical movement will be the focus in a fun environment. All levels of fitness are welcome!

Each session will focus on the importance of:
Warm up and cool down stretching for injury prevention
Core stability and power through strength training and functional exercises
Speed and agility work to support the standardized fitness testing in schools
Team camaraderie and personal achievement through obstacle course runs

Camp Menlo – Junior ATR
Building on the success of our adult All Terrain Runners, we are pleased to introduce the NEW Camp-Junior ATR program. Through a fun, competitive and non-competitive, curriculum-based program, kids will work on all aspects of movement using confidence (obstacle) courses, core & strength work, and running. Designed to inspire an appreciation for fitness and build good habits that will last a lifetime, the program will focus on structured physical movement with the goal of giving campers a unique and inspiring experience while cultivating skills for a lifetime of physical fitness and sports safety, health, and enjoyment in a fun summer camp atmosphere. Ages 7-14 years old.

Encinal After School Program
Dates: October 6th, 2016 – December 8th, 2016
Time: 1:50 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.
*Available for 2nd graders thru 5th graders.

*No classes on 10/27 or 11/24

$180 for 8 weeks

Jr-ATR registration includes:

• Eight weeks of fun
• Official Jr-ATR t-shirt
• Snacks & hydration before, during and after class.

Cancellation
If you would like to cancel out of the Jr. ATR program, please fill out the Cancellation Form and submit in person, by mail or via fax. Cancellation requests may also be taken by phone through the Service Center, (650) 330-2232.

Semisi Siu

Semisi is passionate about fitness and nutrition, and feels that they should be implemented as a lifestyle as opposed to it being a chore. He has been involved in athletics and fitness since he was a pre-teen, growing up in Aotearoa (New Zealand), participating in sports like Rugby, Aussie Rules, Cricket, Grass Hockey and Track & Field.

Semisi is native to the South Pacific Islands of Tonga, but grew up in Auckland, New Zealand and moved to California in 1995. In 2001 Semisi earned NASM, ACE & Apex nutrition certifications and worked as a Trainer Fit Pro for 24 hour Fitness in Scottsdale & Phoenix, Arizona. He returned to Menlo Park in 2008, and joined Menlo Swim and Sport as a Menlo Swim School Instructor, Camp Menlo Lead Counselor and Fitness Coach for Menlo Fit Boot Camp, which he truly enjoys – from helping, teaching, and coaching community members, to practicing what he preaches by taking the Wednesday morning 6am “Tabata” class. Semisi is also very proud of his Sunday Trail Runners group and welcomes any running levels – “the most challenging part is showing up!”

Semisi’s personality, passion, focus, professionalism and high octane energy will get you motivated, inspired, dancing, laughing, sweating & hungry for another tough, but fun filled class.
