Confidence – Achievement – Technique
Belle Haven Pool provides professional, goal-oriented swim lessons for all ages and levels, developing life-long competency and a life-long love of swimming.
Here are the top 5 reasons why Belle Haven’s Swim School is the best choice for you:
1. Small Class Sizes
We offer small class sizes for children to develop better in an environment where they get a lot of 1 on 1 interaction with their instructor. Belle Haven works with students to develop proper technique through focused learning and goal oriented reward.
2. Lowest Price for Private Company Swim Lessons in the Peninsula
Living in the Bay Area can be very expensive. We offer the lowest price around to help fit your budget needs and it’s complemented by our professional team.
3. Highly Training Instructors/Lifeguards
We hire the best of the best at Menlo Swim & Sport. Your child will be taught by our professional staff and come out of the water with a wealth of knowledge and a love for swimming. All of our lifeguards are trained and audited to the highest standards set by the American Red Cross and YMCA. Many of our lifeguards hold advance certifications in Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED. Menlo Swim and Sport has retained the services of a leading environmental health and safety firm to guide our company to safer practices for our customers, staff and community. Not only will you save money signing up for our classes, you’ll get the best possible results too!
4. Most Financial Scholarships Offered for Swim Lessons in the Peninsula
We want to reach as many kids as possible and make sure they learn to take care of themselves in the water. We proudly work with the Beyond Barrier Athletic Foundation to provide youth scholarships for our swim lessons. Check out their website to see if you qualify.
5. Space for Beginners and Advanced Swimmers Alike
Belle Haven Pool provides ample space for children to learn, practice, and develop their swimming skills. Knowing how to swim properly at a young age builds a foundation for a long and healthy life.
Swim School Breakdown:
A 10-minute evaluation is required for all new students wishing to register for levels other than Swim Essentials. This quick evaluation is necessary to assign a child to the class level where he or she will make the most progress and be challenged appropriately. The evaluation takes place in the water with an experienced instructor who has the child perform a series of skills. We create a low pressure environment and look at the skills the child has naturally. We assign a level based on three factors; age, swimming ability, and responsiveness to feedback.
Evaluation and level assignment are necessary before we place a student into a lesson time slot. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in and have your child ready to swim at one of these times:
|Monday – Thursday||3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.|
After evaluation you will receive a level code that you will enter during the registration process. See a description of all levels.
Swim Essentials: SE
Level 1: L1
Level 2: L2
Level 3: L3
Register online or Belle Haven Front Desk after your child’s evaluation.

Coaches / Instructors
Each of our instructors completes 40 hours of training with a master instructor trainer before beginning solo instruction. Our Master Instructors have over 15 years of experience teaching swim lessons and swim instruction. New instructors are cross-trained with current instructors, so all instructors are familiar with current teaching techniques and methods. All our instructors attend regular on-going training throughout the year, to develop them as instructors, swimmers and individuals and strengthen our swim lesson program.
Meet our instructors
Our deck coordinator helps you get your kids into the pool on time, answers your questions, and provides internal evaluation for our instructors. We encourage you to talk to the deck coordinator. We welcome your input, so please don’t hesitate to ask questions and make comments. The deck coordinator is there to take your feedback so that your instructor can focus on your child.
